The 15th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference was held in Beijing. Multiple data demonstrated the results of high-quality development of intellectual property.

The 15th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference was held in Beijing from September 8 to September 9, with the theme of “Strive to Promote the High-Quality Development of the Intellectual Property Cause in the 15th Five-Year Plan”.

According to the State Intellectual Property Office, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, my country's intellectual property work has shifted from pursuing quantity to improving quality, and the intellectual property cause has achieved new development, new leaps and new improvements.

In terms of the legal system, my country has completed a new round of comprehensive revisions to the Patent Law and its implementation rules, and established the highest international standard punitive compensation system for infringement.

In terms of creation, my country has 5.394 million valid domestic invention patents and 50.816 million valid domestic trademark registrations. The number of PCT international patent applications has ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years. The number of design applications under the Hague System and the number of Madrid international trademark applications are among the best in the world.

In terms of examination, we have built an internationally leading intelligent patent examination system and a new generation of trademark examination system, realizing the application of large multi-modal models in examination work. The patent and trademark examination cycles have reached the fastest international level under the same examination system.

In terms of application, the added value of patent-intensive industries exceeded 18 trillion yuan, accounting for 13.38% of the GDP. The annual import and export volume of intellectual property royalties exceeds 400 billion yuan.

In terms of protection, 129 national intellectual property protection centers and rapid rights protection centers and 116 overseas intellectual property dispute response and guidance work platforms have been established, and social satisfaction with intellectual property protection has increased to 82.81 points.

In terms of services, we have realized that basic intellectual property data should be as open as possible, all public services are available through one window and one website, and various service agencies have wider coverage and better services.

In terms of international cooperation, it has newly joined the Hague Agreement on the International Registration of Industrial Designs and the Marrakesh Treaty, and promoted the successful conclusion of the WIPO Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources and Related Traditional Knowledge and the Riyadh Design Law Treaty.

The "Global Innovation Index Report 2025" released by the World Intellectual Property Organization shows that my country's ranking has improved to 10th, ranking among the top ten in the world for the first time. The number of the world's top 100 innovation clusters has ranked first among countries for three consecutive years.
