China News Service, Canberra, September 25 (Reporter Bo Wenwen) The Chinese Embassy in Australia held a reception on the 24th to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the arrival of Ambassador Liu Jinsong. More than 400 people attended, including Martin, official secretary to the Governor-General of Australia, Han Jiasi, deputy secretary-general of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Gao Zhilei, acting deputy secretary-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, friends from all walks of life, envoys to Australia and representatives of overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded institutions and international students.

Chinese Ambassador to Australia Liu Jinsong introduced China's development achievements in his speech, saying that China will continue to adhere to peaceful development, unswervingly safeguard national unity, promote high-quality development, and expand high-level opening up to the outside world. China's development and progress are dividends and opportunities for Australia. Maintaining, expanding and deepening China-Australia relations requires "everyone contributes", adhering to the original intention of establishing diplomatic relations and adhering to the right way of getting along; promoting mutual benefit and win-win results in pragmatic cooperation; building a solid foundation of public opinion while inheriting friendship; and achieving common development through exchanges and mutual learning. Looking forward to the future, China and Australia should treat each other as equals, seek common ground while reserving differences, and mutually beneficial cooperation, implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and promote a virtuous cycle of bilateral relations, making progress while maintaining stability, and developing upward.

Gao Zhilei congratulated the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and welcomed Ambassador Liu Jinsong to Australia to take up his new post. He said that continuing to build a stable and constructive bilateral relationship is in the common interests of Australia and China. Prime Minister Albanese looks forward to attending the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in China. Gao Zhilei also expressed condolences on behalf of the Australian government for the mudslide disaster on the China-Nepal border.
