Deng Tao, deputy secretary of the Wushan County Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of the county government, said that in recent years, Wushan has seized major strategic opportunities such as the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor and the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, and strived to build a cultural and tourism integrated development product system, and the attractiveness and influence of cultural tourism have continued to increase.
Liu Benwan, Secretary of the Wushan County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, also said that the cultural tourism industry has always been a pillar industry that the Wushan County Party Committee and the county government have continued to strive for and build. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wushan will continue to polish its "city business card" and build the Three Gorges Harbor City.
Liu Benwan said that the city of Wushan is very unique. It can be said that "the river is in the city and the city is in the mountains." In the future, the county will make full use of the urban pattern of being surrounded by mountains and rivers, vertically create a three-dimensional consumption corridor with the Goddess Grand Escalator as the main axis, horizontally create a night economic gathering area with "two rivers and four banks" as the carrier, and build the unique "8D Magic" Three Gorges Harbor City.
Regarding the future development of the cultural tourism industry, Deng Tao said that the county will focus on "integrating circles into groups, stringing beads into chains, radiating tourism, and empowering digital intelligence" to promote Wushan's cultural tourism to take new steps and reach a new level.
Wushan owns the Little Three Gorges and the Little Three Gorges, the first batch of national 5A-level scenic spots, and is making every effort to promote Wu Gorge and Goddess Scenic Area to create a national 5A-level scenic spot. Deng Tao said that in order to "integrate the circle into the group" and create a new brand with more structure, Wushan will use the "Double 5A" scenic spot as the core engine, focus on the theme of "Magnificent Yangtze River·Poetry and Painting Three Gorges", and create water-based Three Gorges, land-based Three Gorges, etc. High-quality routes, cultivating special products such as flying over the Three Gorges and hiking cross-country, opening the "Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor" tourist train, joining hands with Bazhong areas in Sichuan to jointly weave the Bashu Red Leaf Economic Belt, and deeply integrating into the construction of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor.
In order to "string beads into a chain" and create a more systematic new network, Wushan will optimize the north-south land and water loops of Wu Gorge and Goddess Scenic Area, connect scenic spots such as the Three Gorges Longji and Longgupo ruins, refine the east-west water and land loops of Small Three Gorges and Small Three Gorges, connect Dachang Ancient Town, Impression Pinghe, Yunshang Zhuxian and other rural tourism demonstration films, and strive to build a multi-node, full coverage, and integrated cultural and tourism industry cluster.
In order to revitalize travel and create new experiences of higher quality, Wushan will continue to enrich the supply of tourist accommodation. On the one hand, Wushan will "add" to its existing inventory, further revitalize idle assets in the county, introduce well-known hotel management groups, cultivate and build a number of business hotels and chain hotels, and create an economic hotel cluster. On the other hand, Wushan will "multiply" on the increase, relying on special homestays such as "Three Gorges Yard" and "Muya Wushan" to promote the development of emerging accommodation formats such as tent hotels, self-driving campsites, RV campsites, and family inns.
In terms of digital intelligence empowerment, Wushan will focus on the six major elements of "food, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment" to accelerate the creation of comprehensive application scenarios for Three Gorges smart travel, launch smart tours, enrich convenient functions such as VR travel and online queuing, and provide convenient services such as online booking, queuing reminders, and baggage check-in, so that tourists can "enter Wushan with just one mobile phone."
