International direct flight from Lijiang, Yunnan to Cheongju, South Korea officially opened

China News Service, Lijiang, Yunnan, October 5 (Jiang Tian, ​​Zhao Yanmei) Kunming Customs reported on the 5th that at 1:45 a.m. that day, flight JD466 carrying 123 inbound passengers successfully arrived at Sanyi International Airport in Lijiang, Yunnan from Cheongju International Airport in South Korea, marking the official opening of the Lijiang-Cheongju international direct flight in South Korea. This is the second direct flight between China and South Korea opened at Lijiang Airport Port this year, adding new momentum to local cross-border tourism.

This route is operated by Capital Airlines and is planned to operate twice a week. The outbound flight takes off from Lijiang Sanyi International Airport at 15:15 every Thursday and Sunday and arrives at Qingzhou International Airport at 20:35; the return flight takes off from Qingzhou International Airport at 22:00 every Thursday and Sunday and arrives at Lijiang Sanyi International Airport at 1:45 the next day. Lijiang is located at the junction of the three provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet. It is the only city in China that holds three laurels of world cultural heritage, world natural heritage and world memory heritage. Dongba culture, Mosuo customs, border culture and other precious cultural resources are gathered here. Cheongju is an important transportation, tourism, and business hub in central Korea. The opening of this route will not only set up a convenient air bridge between Lijiang and Qingzhou, two famous historical and cultural cities, but will also promote exchanges and cooperation between China and South Korea in the fields of culture and tourism, economy and trade, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

In order to ensure the smooth opening of the new route, Lijiang Customs, a subsidiary of Kunming Customs, relies on the results of port public health core capacity building to continue to strengthen port infectious disease monitoring, and makes full use of CT machines, low-temperature detection and other equipment as well as supervision working dogs. Through the linkage method of "intelligent rapid screening + manual precise positioning + working dog-assisted inspection", it improves the efficiency of baggage inspection and ensures the safe and efficient customs clearance of passengers.

"We use smart sanitary inspection gates to achieve sensorless temperature measurement, and passengers with no abnormalities can pass through in seconds, which greatly improves the customs clearance experience for passengers." said Zhou Kai, deputy section chief of the Travel Inspection Section of Lijiang Customs, which is affiliated with Kunming Customs.

Up to now, there are 5 international and inter-regional routes in operation at Lijiang Airport Port. It is expected that a new direct flight from Lijiang to Daegu, South Korea will be opened in mid-to-late October, and direct flights to Singapore and Hanoi, Vietnam will be restored.
