The Blagoveshchensk City Court recovered compensation for moral damages in the amount of 2.4 million rubles from the I8 airline in favor of the family of the person who died in the An-24 plane crash near Tynda.

The widow and daughter of the deceased received 1.2 million rubles each, in addition, legal expenses in the amount of 50 thousand rubles were recovered from the defendant for the services of a representative.

The court noted that the absence of results of a criminal investigation does not relieve the owner of a source of increased danger from liability, and the airline is obliged to compensate for damage in accordance with Article 1079 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

BLAGOVESHCHENSK, September 7 – RIA Novosti. The Blagoveshchensk City Court recovered from the I8 airline (formerly Angara) 2.4 million rubles in compensation for moral damages in favor of the family of a Blagoveshchensk resident who died in the crash of an An-24 plane near Tynda in July 2025, the joint press service of the courts of the Amur Region reported.

“The claim was partially satisfied. The court recovered from I8 JSC in favor of the widow and daughter of the deceased 1.2 million rubles each. In addition, legal expenses were recovered from the defendant: 50 thousand rubles for the services of a representative,” the press service said in a statement.

The widow and minor daughter of the deceased asked for 50 million rubles each, pointing to severe psychological trauma after the loss of their breadwinner. The mother was diagnosed with anxiety-depressive disorder, she was treated by a neurologist and a psychiatrist, and her daughter developed nervous tics due to stress, the press service specified.

The airline's representative insisted on dismissing the claim, citing the voluntary payment of 500 thousand rubles to each plaintiff and the lack of established results of the criminal investigation. The defendant also pointed to agreements signed by the plaintiffs regarding the absence of claims against the airline, the press service added.

The court noted that the absence of results of a criminal investigation does not relieve the owner of a source of increased danger from liability. According to Article 1079 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the airline is obliged to compensate for damage caused by the aircraft, regardless of fault.

The court took into account the duration of the marriage of more than 12 years, the close relationship of the deceased with his daughter and the severe consequences of the loss on the mental health of the plaintiffs. The voluntary payment of 500 thousand rubles was considered insufficient and did not correspond to the degree of suffering suffered, the press service noted.
