Veteran actor Pang Xianglin passes away at age 80

The entertainment industry has lost another national treasure-level veteran actor! The 80-year-old veteran actor Pang Xianglin, who has performed in countless eight-o'clock classics such as "One Cut Plum", "Flying Dragon in the Sky", and "Love in the World" and has been in the industry for nearly 50 years, was confirmed by his son Pang Yunhui today (7th) to have passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 1st. Pang Xianglin has been in the television industry for nearly 50 years and has performed in more than 50 dramas. Many years ago, he underwent surgery for a benign ameloblastoma on the right side of his jaw. He lost 10 kilograms at one point. Son Pang Yunhui announced the sad news today through a statement, revealing that his father passed away peacefully and naturally in the hospital surrounded by his family. In the face of illness and torture, Pang Xianglin always showed incomparable tenacity and optimism. The family members said that in compliance with Pang Xianglin's last wish, everything will be simplified after death. In order to avoid disturbing relatives, friends and the outside world, no memorial hall will be set up during this period. The farewell ceremony is scheduled for 12 noon on September 26 at the Zhizhen Hall on the first floor of the Taipei Huai Ai Museum.
