28-year-old man is found dead with a gunshot wound in Serra, Espírito Santo

A 28-year-old man was found dead, with gunshot wounds, in the Colina de Laranjeiras neighborhood, in Serra, Grande Vitória, last Saturday afternoon (5). According to the Military Police, a pedestrian reported hearing gunshots in the area. The victim was identified as Abner Henrique Lacerda de Souza.

Upon arriving at the scene, the military found a Samu team, which had already confirmed the victim's death. According to relatives, Abner had lived on the streets for around six years.

The family also said that he had been admitted to rehabilitation clinics several times in an attempt to get rid of his drug addiction.

The crime took place a few meters from a maternity hospital located in the neighborhood. The police are still trying to clarify where and under what circumstances Abner was shot. One of the hypotheses being investigated is that the shooting occurred in a forested area close to the place where the body was found.

Residents report that the stretch of forest is used as a shelter by drug users. According to one of them, some people even set up camps there and remain in the region.

The possibility that the young man was shot in the bush, and not on the avenue where he was located, is also considered by the investigation.
