Henry Harman Adamsson, chief scientist of the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Institute of Integrated Circuits and System Applications, passed away

China News Service, Shanghai, September 1st. On September 1st, the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Institute of Integrated Circuits and System Applications issued an obituary stating that Henry Homayoun Radamson, the institute’s chief scientist and director of the Optoelectronic Integrated Circuit R&D Center, suffered a sudden illness and failed rescue efforts. He died in Shanghai at 2:43 a.m. on August 12th at the age of 63. The farewell ceremony for the remains is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on September 6, 2026 (Sunday) at the Galaxy Hall of Longhua Funeral Home in Shanghai.

At the 2023 Chinese Government Friendship Award Ceremony, 50 experts in various fields from 26 countries won the award, and Henry Homayoun Radamson was one of them. The Chinese Government Friendship Award is an honorary award established by the Chinese government to commend foreign experts working in China who have made important contributions to China's reform and development.

Adamsson’s office in Guangzhou hangs the national flags of China and Switzerland. He said that with the strong support of the Chinese government, more and more foreign scientists choose to work in China and realize their scientific research dreams here. As an expert in the fields of microelectronics, thermoelectric materials and infrared sensor research, Adamsson is particularly good at research on nanophotonics, electronics and infrared optoelectronic devices.

In 2012, at the invitation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Adamsson became a visiting professor at the Academy and has since formed an indissoluble bond with China. In 2016, he came to China from Sweden and became a researcher at the Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In August 2019, the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Integrated Circuit and System Application Research Institute was established in Guangzhou, with Adamson serving as chief scientist and making outstanding contributions.
