Russian military liberated Novopavlovka in Zaporozhye region

Russian military personnel who liberated Novopavlovka near the town of Orekhov in the Zaporozhye region thus gained control of an important logistics point through which the Orekhov group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was supplied, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of Novopavlovka on September 1. The settlement was taken under control by assault units of the 217th Guards Parachute Regiment of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Forces from the Dnepr group of troops.

“The forces of the guards-paratroopers liberated an important logistics point through which the Orekhovsk group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was supplied,” the message says.

The commander of the parachute battalion with the call sign Sokol, whose words are quoted by the Russian Defense Ministry, said that the settlement is located in an open area, and the buildings in it are mostly one-story. According to him, the attack aircraft entered Novopavlovka as dispersed as possible along different routes and created a bridgehead there.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces tried several times to send “clean-up groups,” which retreated after shooting battles with Russian servicemen, Sokol said. In addition, Ukrainian troops attempted to advance into the settlement using equipment, but abandoned them after some time.

“Now, at the moment, the enemy is no longer attempting to enter the vehicle. After the vehicle, the enemy used NRTCs, which drove into a populated area, but were immediately destroyed by our FPV drones,” Sokol said.

After this, Ukrainian troops almost completely switched to delivery using R-18 drones, said the chief of staff of the parachute battalion with the call sign Voskhod. However, Russian military personnel can cope with them too, he noted.
