Zhubei mayor candidate Wu Xuzhi: Combining the advantages of technology and education to create a future technology city

Kuomintang Wu Xuzhi, mayor of Zhubei, Hsinchu County, today attended the "2026 Future Kids Expo Parent-child Exploration of Future Technology Carnival" and saw the on-site planning of drone football, programmed robots, VR dinosaurs, and an escape room that combined water control, pollution, and sustainability issues. Wu Xuzhi believes that Hsinchu’s scientific and technological advantages should be expanded and promoted downwards to make it a future educational advantage for children in Zhubei and even the county.

Wu Xuzhi said that he has an information technology background and has been involved in AI and technology education for many years. Today’s activities range from drone football, robots, VR to technological puzzle solving. It can be seen that children’s abilities and interests are inherently diverse. Education should not just give children one path, but should provide more opportunities for contact, experimentation and discovery of talents. Overall, there have been many parent-child activities in Zhubei in recent years, but experiences that combine education, games and forward-looking technology will continue to increase.

From today's drone football, robots to VR, we can see that technology education is not just about learning to write programs or operate equipment, but can also be combined with the environment, culture and urban life.

He continues to promote the implementation of AI, AIoT, drone football, and technology, transforming seemingly distant technologies into content that children can actually touch, play with, and be further willing to learn.

Wu Xuzhi said that if he has the opportunity to serve as the mayor of Zhubei in the future, he and the future county magistrate Xu Xinying will form a "county and city integration" to jointly promote science and technology education cooperation. County-level resources promote AI education, cross-school courses, talent cultivation and large-scale parent-child technology fields. Zhubei City takes advantage of being closest to the community and takes stock of libraries, activity centers, parks, parent-child and sports spaces, and connects universities, technology companies and local engineers to bring AI, robots, drones and STEAM courses into the city's daily life, turning Hsinchu's technological advantages into educational advantages for children.
