Korea Ocean Business Corporation holds seminar to share eco-friendly facility offshore verification results

Korea Maritime Promotion Corporation shares operation data obtained by applying eco-friendly facilities to actual ships with the industry.

Haejin Engineering & Construction announced on the 28th that it will hold a seminar to share the results of offshore verification of fuel saving equipment (ESD) and wind power auxiliary propulsion system (WAPS) in the conference room of the Korea Maritime Cooperation Center in Jung-gu, Busan on the 30th of this month.

This seminar was designed to share the results of applying eco-friendly facilities on actual ships with shipping companies, shipyards, and ship equipment industry officials, and to provide information necessary for the introduction of eco-friendly facilities for small and medium-sized shipping companies.

Recently, the international shipping industry has been increasingly adopting eco-friendly shipping technology to reduce carbon emissions.

Fuel-saving facilities that reduce the fuel used during ship operation and wind auxiliary propulsion devices that use the power of the wind to assist the ship's propulsion are attracting attention as major technologies.

In the case of small and medium-sized shipping companies, it is difficult to confirm in advance the actual fuel saving effect and economic feasibility of new facilities, and they do not have enough capacity to invest in their own verification, so they often feel burdened by the introduction of technology.

Haejin Engineering plans to increase understanding of the technology by sharing the actual operational application results of eco-friendly facilities with the industry at the seminar and provide empirical information that shipping companies can use when considering whether to introduce the facility.

ESD maritime verification research cases, offshore verification results of wind auxiliary propulsion devices, current technology level of wind auxiliary propulsion devices, performance estimation guidelines, and ESD third-party verification results will be covered at the seminar.

Haejin Engineering expects that through this seminar, shipping companies considering the introduction of eco-friendly facilities will be able to more specifically determine the pros and cons and applicability of the technology.
