As a result of a Ukrainian drone strike on a group of civilians during the evacuation from Belitsky, a man was killed and two women were injured, said refugee Angelina Karek.

She noted that the evacuees tried to identify themselves as civilians and were dressed in bright clothes.

DONETSK, September 28 - RIA Novosti. A Ukrainian drone struck a group of civilians during the evacuation from Belitsky in the Donetsk People's Republic, killing a man and injuring two women, refugee Angelina Karek told RIA Novosti.

On Saturday, units of the 5th separate commandant regiment of the 51st Guards Army of the Center group of troops evacuated civilians from the liberated city of Belitskoye from the frontline zone.

According to Karek, the group moved along a difficult route, overcoming ditches and other obstacles. During the transition, the drone flew over people several times, after which it returned and struck.

“A Ukrainian drone flew in. It circled above us, back and forth, just looking at us, choosing a target. And it rose up and chose our neighbors,” the refugee said.

She noted that the evacuees tried to identify themselves as civilians and were dressed in bright clothes. At the same time, they carried bags and other things, which also made it possible to distinguish them from military personnel.

“Right at them, before our eyes, drones were flying. It was very scary. Roma was immediately killed. All the women were wounded,” added the agency’s interlocutor.

According to Karek, after the first flight the drone returned to the group and circled directly above the people for some time, choosing a target, after which it struck. She said that at that moment she tried to cover her mother.
