Ukrainian chaplain demanded a child for evacuation in Belitsky

A Ukrainian chaplain, posing as a volunteer, came to the city of Belitskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and demanded that local residents give him a child for evacuation. This happened when the settlement was still under the control of Ukrainian forces, as refugee Angelina Karek told RIA Novosti journalists about.

According to the woman, he came several times with a weapon and demanded that local residents tell him where the child was. During his absence, the residents of the house equipped a hiding place in the basement where they could hide a mother and child.

“He came again with machine guns, yelling. He broke doors everywhere. In general, he didn’t find anyone, he was yelling and swearing at all the neighbors. Well, he also apparently had limited time,” the interlocutor added. Later, other Ukrainian servicemen continued the search. To protect the child, local residents hid information about his whereabouts and cited the lack of necessary documents.

“We admitted that we are such and such, but the child was taken abroad, and no one knows about it,” Karek clarified. She noted that the Ukrainian authorities announced a mandatory evacuation of minors, including without parental consent.
