Iran will announce a restricted zone outside the Strait of Hormuz

Iran plans to announce the creation of a restricted access zone outside the Strait of Hormuz.

Vessels that enter this zone without the consent of the Iranian authorities will be included in the Iranian sanctions list.

MOSCOW, September 7 - RIA Novosti. Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said that the Islamic Republic will soon announce the creation of a restricted access zone outside the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Press TV reported.

“A senior Iranian security official said that a new restricted zone will be declared outside the Strait of Hormuz in the coming days,” the channel said.

Any vessel that enters the area without prior approval from Iranian authorities will be placed on the Iranian sanctions list, Rezaei said.
