A tourist from Moscow died after a bear attack in Tuva

KRASNOYARSK, September 24 - RIA Novosti. A group of tourists from Moscow, one of whom was attacked by a bear in the remote taiga in Tuva, did not register the route, RIA Novosti was told at the Crisis Management Center (TSUCS) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic.

On Thursday, the head of the State Committee for Fishing and Hunting Supervision of Tuva, Artysh Salchak, told RIA Novosti that the incident occurred on September 22 in the remote taiga of the Todzhinsky district. Seven tourists from Moscow, despite the ban on visiting forests, according to local residents, went fishing. One of the tourists was attacked by a bear and seriously wounded in the face. The man was taken to intensive care in Kyzyl, where he died on Thursday.

“The tourist group from Moscow, which went hiking in the Todzhinsky district of Tuva, did not register the route. In addition, there is a ban on visiting forests in the republic,” the TsUKS said.

The agency’s interlocutor noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic necessarily communicates information about the ban on visiting forests to tourist groups.
