The Legislative Yuan elected eight convening committee members today (8th). It is reported that the Kuomintang originally planned to appoint Weng Xiaoling to the Judiciary and Legal Affairs Committee, but considering that her hatred value may affect the election, it changed the convening committee to the KMT legislator Chen Zhaozi. In this regard, Zhuang Ruixiong, secretary-general of the Democratic Progressive Party Legislative Yuan Caucus, said that KMT members used to strongly support Weng Xiaoling's proposals, but they may have discovered that the polls were wrong and started to suppress her. Weng Xiaoling was also very aggrieved.

Eight standing committees of the Legislative Yuan held committee elections this morning, including Blue Committee Liao Xianxiang and Green Committee Li Boyi for Internal Affairs, Blue Committee Xu Qiaoxin and Green Committee Wang Yichuan for Foreign Affairs and Defense, Blue Committee Zheng Zhengqian and Green Committee Zhong Jiabin for Economy, and Blue Committee Lin for Finance. Defu and the Green Committee are Lai Huiyuan; the Education and Culture Committee is the Blue Committee Ye Yuanzhi and the Green Committee Chen Peiyu; the Transportation Committee is the Blue Committee Qiu Ruohua and the Green Committee Lin Junxian; the Health and Environment Committee is the Blue Committee Chen Jinghui and the Green Committee Wang Zhengxu; the Judicial and Legal Affairs Committee is the Green Committee Zhang Yalin and the White Committee Chen Zhaozi.

Regarding the National Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, Wang Yichuan and Xu Qiaoxin serve as convening committee members, and their interaction has attracted much attention. Zhuang Ruixiong said that no matter whether two people are strong or not, sitting in the position of the convening committee cannot carry out their personal will. The convening committee must stand in the position of impartially presiding over deliberations. The outside world will also examine whether they implement professionalism or who is quarreling for the sake of publicity. I believe they will not dare to preside over deliberations indiscriminately.

As for Weng Xiaoling's failure to be re-elected as a convener of the Judicial and Legal Affairs Committee, the outside world questioned the sudden change of appointment before the election of the blue camp. Zhuang Ruixiong said that Weng Xiaoling was a little aggrieved, and he didn’t know if the KMT deliberately suppressed her.
