From a confused girl to a practicing lawyer: Huang Yushu recommends his enlightenment teacher Lin Guozhang

Huang Yushu entered the society after graduating from junior high school. At the age of 20, she felt confused about the future. She resumed her studies and came to Yilan Community College to meet lecturer Lin Guozhang. The vivid law class changed the life of this confused girl. Now she is a practicing lawyer and became the DPP candidate for Yilan County Mayor Lin Guozhang.

Looking back on those years, Huang Yushu took Lin Guozhang's class by chance. She originally thought that the legal provisions were difficult and cold, but with Lin Guozhang's friendly explanations and easy-to-understand life examples, she instantly became approachable. After being inspired, Huang Yushu applied for the law department when he was admitted to university, and was finally admitted to Soochow Law School. After graduation, he was admitted to the graduate school of Taipei University for further study. From a former student to a practitioner in the legal world, she deeply understood the enthusiasm of her mentor Lin Guozhang. She said that Lin Guozhang was very supportive of his younger students. When she was studying at Soochow, Lin specifically asked her classmates who were teaching at the school to take more care of her. This warmth is something she will remember to this day.

After becoming a lawyer, Huang Yushu observed that Lin Guozhang always tried his best to pick up helpless clients, whether on the podium or in the courtroom, and regarded the practice of human rights and legal aid as his life's mission. "Meeting Lin Guozhang brought a great change to my life!" She said that the warmth along the way convinced her that if Lin Guozhang serves as the county magistrate, he will definitely bring the best governance and care to Yilan.

The Lin Guozhang Competition Office stated that the story of Huang Yushu is the epitome of countless precious teachers and students during Lin Guozhang's nearly 30 years of teaching at Yilan Social University. In order to unite this long-term grassroots force, the "Lin Guozhang Teachers and Students Support Association" will make a heartwarming debut on September 28, when many teachers and former students of the Social University will gather together to support with practical actions.
