According to statistics from the Gao City MRT Bureau, from the start of school on August 31 to four days before September 4, the inbound traffic volume of C28 Kaohsiung Gaogong Station and C29 Shudejia Commercial Station from 16:00 to 18:00 increased by 9.1% compared with the same period last year; the MRT Bureau will increase the number of distribution vehicles and on-site guidance manpower from today to improve the efficiency of transportation during peak hours after school.

In response to the increase in the number of students taking the light rail in Kaohsiung's Kaohsiung Institute of Technology and Shudejia Business School during the after-school hours, Kaohsiung MRT Director Wu Jiachang went to the C29 Shudejia Business Station to learn about the students' after-school rides and on-site transportation. He also invited Shudejia Business Chief Instructor Cai, Gaojie Company General Manager Wang Yazhou and others to jointly inspect.

The MRT Bureau stated that from August 31st to September 4th, the inbound traffic volume of C28 Kaohsiung High-tech Station and C29 Shudejia Shopping Station from 16:00 to 18:00 increased by 9.1% compared with the same period last year, including retrograde travel. 71% of these trips transferred to the MRT Red Line R13 Aozidi Station at Station C24, which shows that the transfer demand of students in the direction of Aozidi after school is relatively concentrated, and the forward travel times are mainly in the direction C30 to C33.

The original transportation plan has dispatched one additional forward and reverse train during the peak hours when students are out of school. After reviewing the actual travel demand in the new school year and considering that the number of trips in the reverse direction is higher, it was decided to add one more reverse train. The empty train will pick up passengers at C29 Shudejia Shopping Station and C28 Kaohsiung High-tech Station. In conjunction with the original train operation, the average headway during peak hours is 7 minutes.

In terms of manpower allocation, on-site guidance will be strengthened simultaneously at stations C28 and C29 during school hours. Each station will be equipped with 6 guidance personnel to guide passengers, divert passengers and maintain order on the platform and sidewalk respectively to speed up the boarding and alighting of students.

Wu Jiachang said that through on-site inspections and transportation volume data analysis, it was understood that the demand for travel in the retrograde direction is higher, so the increased transportation capacity is prioritized in the retrograde direction, so that transportation resources can more accurately respond to the actual travel needs of students.
