The Minxiong campus of the Chinese Academy of Sciences built a R&D production shed factory and a R&D building and other facilities in the east campus. After nearly three years of construction, they were opened today to strengthen the country's UAV R&D, testing and production capacity, while in the west The "Minxiong Aerospace and UAV Industrial Park" on the side has broken ground and is expected to be completed in 2028. In the future, it is estimated that it will provide about 100 manufacturers and create 1,200 job opportunities, driving an annual output value of 8 billion yuan. Through the construction of the park, it will attract UAV and related supply chain manufacturers to settle in. It can be connected with the R&D and production volume of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to the east and expand the Chiayi UAV industry cluster.

The Minxiong campus of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on the east side started construction on December 5, 2023, with an investment of 1.11 billion yuan, giving priority to the development of 5.12 hectares, and building facilities such as R&D production sheds and R&D buildings; the "Minxiong Aerospace and UAV Industrial Park" on the west side has a public construction fund of 6.859 billion yuan approved by the Executive Yuan. In the future, production plants, test equipment, test flights and research and development spaces will be set up, and it is expected to be completed in 2028.

Lai Qingde said that the opening of the Minxiong Campus represents that national-level R&D and production capacity has been established in Chiayi, and the commencement of construction of the industrial park represents that technological energy will further spread to the private sector, driving Taiwan's drone industry to scale. Chiayi will also transform from a R&D and testing base to become an important hub for the country's development of the drone industry. Taiwan is absolutely capable of becoming the Asian center of the democratic supply chain for drones, and today is an important step in implementing this goal.

Lai Qingde affirmed County Magistrate Weng Zhangliang and the county team for revitalizing existing school buildings to build sub-creation centers when the drone industry was still in its infancy, and actively seeking resources from the central government. Weng Zhangliang said that in 2019, the Chinese Academy of Sciences selected Minxiong to set up an aerospace R&D base, and the county government revitalized the idle campus space of CPIC's former Taiwan University as a drone R&D center. In August 2022, the Asian Drone AI Innovation Application R&D Center was unveiled. Now, from CPIC's R&D, testing and verification, to Minxiong's R&D production system and industrial cluster, Chiayi's drone industry layout is gradually taking shape.
