On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting on the topic of implementing investment projects in the Amur region. He noted that more than 50 projects with a total investment of more than 3.3 trillion rubles are being implemented in the region with government support measures. “Currently, our main task is to launch a new investment cycle. A list of 95 promising projects with a total value of 480 billion rubles in six sectors of the economy has already been formed. He noted that over the past five years the region has increased its soybean processing capacity by 28%, to 580 tons per year. An additional million tons of oilseeds per year will be allowed to be processed by the oil extraction plant of the Sodrugestvo Group of Companies when it reaches its design capacity.
Orlov also noted that investments in mining in the region reached 300 billion rubles. Projects are being implemented to develop refractory ores of gold, copper and nickel. Documents are being developed for the construction of a mining and metallurgical plant in the Tyndinsky district.
