Two gas stations selected... Promote expansion of incentives such as government awards

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Bo-in = Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong-kwan visited the 'good gas station' that contributed to stabilizing oil prices on the afternoon of the 22nd and encouraged the officials.

Minister Kim visited the SK Oh Happy Gas Station in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province and expressed gratitude for their voluntary cooperation in stabilizing oil prices during the Middle East war.

This gas station was named the first Good Gas Station along with Pyeongdong Jeil Gas Station in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.

Good Gas Station is a place that has been selected as a 'good gas station' more than five times by the civic group 'Energy and Oil Market Monitoring Group' every two weeks since the implementation of the maximum oil price system on March 13.

There are currently a total of 418 good gas stations, and they sell petroleum products about 20 won cheaper than the national average selling price of gasoline and diesel.

At the good gas stations selected this time, the average selling price was found to be 40 won cheaper for gasoline and 44 won cheaper for diesel.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is pushing to expand incentives to expand good gas stations and good gas stations.

In cooperation with Hana Financial Group, we provide a cashback benefit of 0.1% for good gas stations and 0.3% for good gas stations, and support facility opening costs of 2 million won per gas station. We plan to expand to other card companies in the future.

In addition, we will pursue reductions in quality agreement fees for the Korea Petroleum Quality and Distribution Authority and award government awards to good gas stations, and discover additional incentives through consultation with related ministries.

Hana Bank President Lee Ho-seong accompanied the on-site visit and personally explained the incentives provided by Hana Financial Group.

Minister Kim said, "Despite the signing of a previous memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the U.S. and Iran, there are still concerns about price instability, so we request gas stations to cooperate in stabilizing prices, and the government will continue to seek ways to help the gas station industry."

He added, “We hope that many financial institutions, including credit card companies, led by Hana Financial Group, will participate in supporting good gas stations.”
