Doctors at Vladivostok Clinical Hospital No. 1 removed a fibroid weighing eight kilograms from a patient.

The tumor had been developing for a long time, and doctors note that delaying the operation could lead to oncology.

The patient feels well and has already been discharged home.

VLADIVOSTOK, September 30 - RIA Novosti. Doctors removed an eight-kilogram fibroid the size of a soccer ball from a resident of Vladivostok, reports the Ministry of Health of Primorye.

“Eight kilograms - that’s how much the tumor weighed, with which the resident of the regional capital was urgently taken to Vladivostok Clinical Hospital No. 1. Due to severe pain, the woman could hardly speak. A complex operation to remove fibroids the size of a football was successfully carried out by the head of the gynecology department Inessa Stuzhina and doctor Tatyana Budennaya,” the message says.

It is noted that the tumor has been developing for a long time. During attacks of pain, the patient took painkillers and constantly postponed visiting the doctor. Doctors note that if she had to endure the pain again, the rapidly growing tumor could lead to cancer.

The patient is now feeling well and has already been discharged home. She has planned follow-up with a gynecologist and regular medical examinations ahead.
