The 4th China Kiwi Expo and the 15th Kiwi Industry Development Conference opened in Mei County, Shaanxi

China News Service, Baoji, September 24 (Wang Lichen) On September 23, the 4th China Kiwi Fruit Expo and the 15th Kiwi Fruit Industry Development Conference opened in Mei County, Shaanxi Province. The theme of this conference is "Inheriting Zhang Zai's cultural heritage and sharing the delicious kiwi fruit".

At the event, the person in charge of the Shaanxi Provincial Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Center read out the document that Mei County was recognized as a "national representative area for the development of high-quality fruits" and "a national green food raw material kiwi fruit supplier."

During the conference, a series of activities such as the Kiwi Fruit Expo, Production and Marketing Docking Conference, Foreign Trade Export Symposium, Investment Promotion Conference, etc. will also be held. The expo has 7 special exhibition areas and more than 200 specially designed booths, focusing on displaying fine domestic and foreign kiwi varieties, cutting-edge technologies, intelligent equipment and green agricultural inputs.

24 major kiwifruit-producing cities and counties, 26 scientific research institutes, 157 domestic and foreign distribution markets and fruit marketing companies, and 209 domestic and foreign kiwifruit industry chain companies from 8 provinces including Sichuan, Guizhou, and Henan participated in relevant activities.

It is understood that Mei County is an important production area for China's kiwifruit industry. After more than 40 years of development, the local area has continued to promote the quality and upgrading of the kiwifruit industry. At present, the brand value of "Meixian Kiwi" reaches 16.137 billion yuan, ranking first in the same category in the country. In 2026, Mei County's kiwifruit output is expected to exceed 560,000 tons, with a comprehensive output value of 7.2 billion yuan. In the next step, Mei County will focus on building a global high-quality kiwi fruit planting base and promote the development of the entire industry chain including variety research and development, export certification, and deep processing and sales.
