Ninghua, Fujian: Continue the red blood and walk the "Long March" in the new era

Ninghua, Fujian Province is one of the starting points of the Central Red Army’s Long March. Today, this piece of red land continues to have red blood, promoting the deep integration of red cultural relics protection, red tourism development and rural revitalization, turning the Long March Road into a road to wealth and revitalization for people in old areas.

The Ninghua County Revolutionary Memorial Hall was first built in 1977. The new hall was officially opened to the public in January 2021. The construction area of ​​the museum area is 38,000 square meters, the exhibition hall area is 6,000 square meters, and the annual reception volume exceeds 250,000 people. It is a landmark project and characteristic display point of the Fujian section of the Long March National Cultural Park. It is also an important carrier for citizens to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs, carry forward the revolutionary tradition, and receive patriotic education.

The struggle gene of Red Earth is passed down from generation to generation. Nowadays, the people of Ninghua have transformed this spirit of "giving up the small family for everyone" into the industrial practice of "team development". Caofang Town of the county has developed a large-scale and intensive pepper planting industry through cross-village joint construction, allowing farmers to share the industrial benefits.

Starting from 2019, taking the construction of the Long March National Cultural Park as an opportunity, a package of residential environment management and village appearance improvement projects have been launched around the red revolutionary sites and along the highway. From repairing an old site to reshaping a village, those villages with revolutionary memories are using the construction of the Long March National Cultural Park as a fulcrum to move from historical sites to revitalizing hot spots.

Although the Ninghua Soviet Area, one of the starting points of the Long March, has become history, the spirit of the Long March has long taken root in this red land. The industry is booming, the village is beautiful, and the villagers are more prosperous. From the Red Army's Long March Road to the Rural Revitalization Road, this red land is continuing to write the "Long March Story" of the new era.
