Yura Borisov will play the main role and will also take part in the creative laboratory of the future film adaptation of Evgeny Vodolazkin’s novel “Laurel”. RIA Novosti reports this.

The general producer of the project, Sergei Katyshev, called this format of working on the film unique and announced a meeting between the writer himself, Yura Borisov and conductor Pyotr Dranga on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater on October 21.

“Preparation usually begins behind closed doors, but we decided to take the process into the public space. “Laurel is a big experiment for us,” said Katyshev.

He also noted that Borisov will act as a co-producer of the project, and a young and ambitious director will take the director’s chair.
