The Rosatom State Corporation is one step away from the physical launch of the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey.

Akkuyu NPP is the first in Turkey, built with Russian participation and consists of four power units with Russian-designed VVER-1200 generation 3+ reactors.

VIENNA, September 14 - RIA Novosti. The Rosatom state corporation is one step away from the physical launch of the first power unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey, said the corporation’s general director Alexey Likhachev.

“Regardless of the political situation and illegal sanction pressure, we are fulfilling all our contractual obligations, ... we are literally one step away from the start of physical commissioning at the first power unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey,” Likhachev said at the plenary session of the 70th session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna.
