US Ambassador to China expresses concern about China's "indirect support" for Iran

US Ambassador to China David Perdue said Washington is concerned about the "indirect support" China allegedly provides to Iran, but admitted that the United States has no direct evidence of this.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun on September 14 called unfounded accusations that Chinese organizations allegedly helped Iran carry out attacks on the US base in Jordan.

"We think there is some indirect support. But there is no direct evidence of it. We are very concerned about this indirect work, and we have been explicit about it," Perdue said in an interview with CNBC.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on September 16 that China is consistent in its policy towards Iran - consistently advocating justice in the UN Security Council, opposing the use of force and defending the norms of international relations.
