Najat Al-Saghira receives the Cultural Personality of the Year award at the Sheikh Zayed Book Award

The ceremony of the 20th session of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday, witnessed the honoring of Egyptian artist Najat Al-Saghira with the Cultural Personality of the Year Award.

The Egyptian artist received the honor from Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs in the UAE, at a ceremony held at the ADNEC Center, on the sidelines of the activities of the 35th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.

The Emirati artist Ahlam shared, through her official accounts on the social networking sites, a picture that she collected with the artist Najat Al-Saghira, and commented on it by saying: “I cannot describe to you my happiness in meeting a great artistic stature.”

The most recent appearance of Najat (88 years old) was during her visit to the headquarters of the National Media Authority in the New Administrative Capital in Egypt, in late November 2025, nearly two years after she was honored at the “Joy Awards” ceremony in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in late January 2024.
