Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi inaugurates a new party executive department, with Vice President Taro Aso and others remaining in office to stabilize the foundation of the government.

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi (Liberal Democratic Party President) inaugurated a new party executive committee on the morning of the 16th. Vice President Taro Aso (85) and Secretary-General Shunichi Suzuki (73) will continue to serve as party leaders to maintain the party's structure. With an eye on next year's party presidential election, he will continue to treat the two Aso faction members who support him, in an effort to stabilize the foundations of his government.

In an interview with reporters at the Prime Minister's Office, the prime minister expressed his determination, saying, ``We will carve out a future through policies that will allow the people to feel the affluence and peace of mind that comes from economic growth.''

Policy Research Council Chairman Takayuki Kobayashi (51), who contested last year's presidential election, as well as former Abe faction campaign committee chairman Yasutoshi Nishimura (63) and acting secretary general Koichi Hagiuda (63), also remain in office. Hiroshi Kajiyama, 70, chairman of the Kuniyoshi Committee, was appointed as chairman of the general affairs committee, and Hideki Murai, 46, former deputy chief cabinet secretary, was appointed as his successor.

The prime minister called the new executive team to party headquarters at around 9:40 a.m., and the personnel changes were approved at the board of governors. After this, the first board meeting was held under the new structure. Four party officials attended a press conference.
