“Turkey is losing some tourists due to high prices. For many travelers, the cost of a holiday becomes a decisive factor when choosing a destination, and with rising costs, it becomes more difficult for Turkey to compete with other countries. At the same time, in key markets, in particular Russian, interest in holidays in Turkey remains,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
Oztekin noted that the dynamics of tourist flow is influenced by a combination of factors, including rising costs of accommodation, food and other tourism services, as well as changes in exchange rates.
According to her, the perception of Turkey as an expensive tourist destination is also increasing in European countries.
“Tourists today compare prices much more carefully. If the cost of a holiday in Turkey turns out to be higher than in alternative destinations, this directly affects demand,” the travel agent emphasized.
