Shooting attack in the USA: Horror at Halloween store... 1 dead, 6 injured

An armed attack took place in a store where shoppers were located before Halloween in the US state of California. One person died and 6 people were injured in the attack that took place in Fairfield, approximately 76 kilometers northeast of San Francisco.

While it was announced that the condition of at least 3 of the injured was critical, a large-scale investigation was launched to catch the attacker or attackers.

GUNSHOTS HEARD DURING HALLOWEEN SHOPPING

After the attack at the "Spirit Halloween" store, which supplies Halloween products, Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall told reporters that the incident took place around 20.30 local time.

Gunshots were heard in the store, where last-minute customers came for Halloween shopping. One person died at the scene of the attack, and six people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. It was reported that the condition of at least three of the injured was critical.

Marshall said that a comprehensive investigation is continuing at the scene and that the suspect or suspects have not yet been identified. Police have not confirmed whether more than one person was involved in the attack. While the reason for the attack has not yet been disclosed, information about the identities and ages of the victims has not been shared.

In their statement, police teams said, "The crime scene is still very active. The interrogation of eyewitnesses continues. We are working meticulously to identify the suspect responsible for this terrible armed attack."

According to the news in the New York Post, Marshall also stated that no area other than the Solano Town Center shopping center was quarantined.

PEOPLE IN THE STORE RUN AWAY FOR THEIR LIVES

There was great panic in the store, which was full of customers at the time of the attack. Customers who heard the gunshots fled to the surrounding areas to save their lives.

Stating that his wife heard about seven gunshots, the witness said, "He told me that he only heard a few gunshots and that people were running, shouting and crying."

The witness stated that after the gunshots, people ran towards the parking lots and the inner parts of the shopping center and tried to reach a safe place.

Another eyewitness quoted a woman from Spirit Halloween as saying, "They came in and started shooting," regarding the attacker or attackers.

SUPPORT TO THE INVESTIGATION FROM THE FBI

Many agencies, including the FBI, supported the investigation conducted by the Fairfield Police Department. Teams were sent to the shopping center to find the suspect or suspects.

FBI Sacramento Office said in a statement: "The FBI assigned a team to assist with a shooting incident at a business."

On the other hand, it was noted that SWAT teams started a large-scale search in the shopping center.
