USA and China Launched Trade and Investment Boards; Super Intelligence Created Dialogue

According to the statement made by the White House, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, during their meeting in the capital Washington, activated the basic intergovernmental mechanisms of the US-China Trade Board and the US-China Investment Board, which were established at the summit held in Beijing in May.

China and the United States agreed on recommendations under the Board of Trade to impose more favorable tariffs on $30 billion of non-sensitive goods in both directions. It was also stated that China will import at least 10 million metric tons of coal from the USA in 2027 and 2028.

The statement stated that the two countries will continue to work to address US concerns regarding supply chain deficiencies regarding rare earth elements and other critical minerals, and that the aim is to bring shipment levels to appropriate levels.

'USA-CHINA SUPER INTELLIGENCE DIALOGUE'

Trump and Xi also agreed to use the term 'superintelligence' instead of 'artificial intelligence' to describe relevant emerging technologies. The two countries formed the 'US-China Superintelligence Dialogue' to exchange views on the potential risks and benefits of the technology in question. Washington and Beijing administrations also agreed to establish a bilateral communication channel to be used in super intelligence-related events.
