Evaluation of US visit from China: Emphasis on strategic stability

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi evaluated President Xi Jinping's official visit to the USA on September 23-25. Wang emphasized that the visit program was intense and comprehensive, and stated that Xi and US President Donald Trump had a sincere and comprehensive exchange of views on China-US relations as well as the world agenda.

Stating that one of the important political results of the visit was the further development of the new positioning of China-US relations, Wang said that the two leaders agreed to establish a constructive China-US relationship based on strategic stability.

Wang stated that President Xi and US President Trump agreed to strengthen the coordination between political and diplomatic channels and said, "In this context, an agreement was reached to maintain regular dialogue between the militaries of the two countries, increase contacts in the fields of economy, trade, finance, law enforcement and human relations, strengthen mutual trust, and handle disputes appropriately."

COOPERATION AREAS WILL EXPAND

Noting that the visit creates new areas for bilateral cooperation, Wang stated that the visit also contributes to the maintenance of the general stability of the relations between the two countries and will have long-term effects on world peace and development.

Pointing out that Xi Jinping's visit to the USA opened a new page in the relations between the two countries, Wang Yi said, "Xi and Trump agreed on increasing coordination on international issues and contributing to world peace and development. An agreement was reached on the effective operation of the China-US Artificial Intelligence Dialogue, increasing communication about the risks and benefits of artificial intelligence, and preventing the misuse of technology."
