Arakchi's statement about US contacts: We will not step back

According to the statement made by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arakchi made statements regarding his contacts in the USA. Arakchi noted that they had intensive contacts in the USA and that they conveyed the conditions determined by the Iranian Supreme National Security Council to the other party through mediators for the progress of the negotiations.

Stating that they saw US President Donald Trump's statements regarding the conditions offered by Iran for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, Arakchi said:

"However, no response has been received from the mediators yet. Of course, we hear both good and contradictory statements from the US President. We are waiting for the definitive answer through the mediators, and we will make a decision according to the answer we receive."

'WE WILL NOT TAKE A STEP BACK'

Stating that the conditions put forward by Iran must be implemented in order to open the Strait of Hormuz, Arakchi underlined that they will not step back on this issue. Finally, Arakchi stated that there is no one who can blame his country for not trying diplomacy, that they have not blocked the path of negotiation through diplomacy, but that they will not give up defending the rights of the Iranian people.
