Allegations regarding detained journalists and prisoners in Sincan Prison

It was reported that journalist Tuğba Tekerek, who was detained in Sincan Prison, was laid on the floor in front of the toilet in the 40-person drug ward.

NEW Party Deputy Chairman Utku Çakırözer noted the scandal in question in his statement on his social media account:

"Our journalist colleague Tuğba Tekerek is being made to lie on the floor in front of the toilet in a 40-person drug ward in Sincan, just because she made a news story.

I visited him in Sincan Prison. He sends his greetings to his friends abroad. Inside, he is more worried about the situation of his namesake Tuğba Ağırşen, his cell mate, than his own situation. Tuğba Ağırşen, who is 9 months pregnant and needs regular oxygen supplements due to her respiratory illness, is also lying on the floor.

In the adjacent wards, human rights defender Tuğba Kahraman, who was detained in a dawn raid on June 23 and has not been freed for three months despite the end of the NATO Summit, is detained.

Here is the reality of prisons in Türkiye. Justice and freedom as soon as possible for the three Tuğba and all sick prisoners and political prisoners, even if their names are different."
