The teacher
It all happened at the home of Nicole Formichetti, originally from Rieti but who lives in Turin. The woman is a teacher of Italian at the Tommaso d'Oria institute in Ciriè, but they had not yet seen her at school for the new school year: she was absent due to "personal problems". According to initial investigations, the woman had developed a wide network of contacts with drug dealers and consumers in the city.
What happened in the teacher's apartment
The party in the 47-year-old teacher's apartment began on September 20, as another of the three protagonists, De Oliveira Morando, said. That day he arrived at the teacher's house with Butig, who lives with his family a few hundred meters away. Once Colapietro also arrived, considered the errand boy "of a drug dealer who knows the teacher", the group "began to consume all types of substances, day and night", explained De Oliveira's lawyer Morando. The next day the twenty-six year old "wakes up and they tell him that the victim stole perhaps 50 euros from him, a fight breaks out in which everyone fights, so Colapietro falls and dies". There is no clarity on the circumstances of his death. "Yes I killed him, but involuntarily. It certainly wasn't planned, it was as part of an argument while he had been taking drugs for days," De Oliveira Morando told the investigating judge. The magistrate would have asked the arrested person if he put his arm around the victim's neck, hinting at a potential cause of death: "He says he absolutely doesn't remember, then they gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and cardiac massage" adds the defender. "A couple of hours" of trying. Then "they decided to hide the body. They went in the following days to buy the sheet, the bags, the bleach, the gloves, the knife, the cement", the lawyer said again. So "they sectioned him and he says that at a certain point he couldn't take it anymore: he goes out, calls his mother, makes her come there and calls the police". They intended, adds the lawyer, to "throw the body parts into a river".

Matheus De Oliveira Morando, 26 years old, father of a 4-year-old girl, explained to the investigating judge that he killed Colapietro, "but involuntarily. It certainly wasn't planned, it was as part of an argument while he had been taking drugs for days". The neighbors, writes Il Corriere della Sera, remember: "He emptied our cellars more than once and stole suitcases of tools, oil, wine, a bit of everything. Perhaps to buy doses". It seems that the young man had been living on the streets for some time, homeless. Keith Butig on the other hand, 22 years old, transgender of Filipino origins, told his lawyer and the judge: "I didn't do anything, I was in another room". For Butig "murder is not even in dispute. He also denies participation in the vilification, dismemberment, concealment of a corpse", explains his lawyer. "She was aware of what had happened. She did not participate in the concealment work. She reported that she had gone to purchase some bags which would then be used for..., but that was the only active participation she gave." The young woman "stayed there for two days, after which she went out and hid for a day and a half or two, out of fear of what had happened, and then she was stopped". He would not have witnessed the murder as "he was in another room". The group, the lawyer reports, had met "in the context of "selling and purchasing narcotic substances".
