A party based on crack, hallucinogenic mushrooms, LSD, cannabis, mdphp (synthetic drug) and spirits. Drugs and stunning that culminated in a murder and then the macabre decision to cut the corpse into pieces. All the substances are listed by the lawyer Wilmer Perga, defender of Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, a twenty-six year old arrested for the murder of Fabio Colapietro, a thirty-nine year old from Chivasso who smashed up a house on the northern outskirts of Turin. The warrant interrogations took place in the Lorusso Cotugno prison before the investigating judge.
In addition to De Oliveira, it was the teacher from Rieti who rented the house in via Gulli, Nicole Formichetti, aged 47, and Keith Butig, aged 22, from Turin - known as Sara - who were investigated for aiding and abetting the suppression of the body. The party began on September 20, De Oliveira Morando said. That day he arrived at the teacher's house with Butig, who lives with his family a few hundred meters away. Once Colapietro also arrived, considered the errand boy "of a drug dealer who knows the teacher, they began to consume all types of substances, day and night", reports the lawyer. The next day the twenty-six year old "wakes up and they tell him that the victim stole perhaps 50 euros from him, a fight breaks out in which everyone fights, so Colapietro falls and dies". There is no clarity on the circumstances of his death.
"Yes I killed him, but involuntarily. It certainly wasn't planned, it was as part of an argument while he had been taking drugs for days," the 26-year-old told the investigating judge. The magistrate would have asked the arrested person if he put his arm around the victim's neck, hinting at a potential cause of death: "He says he absolutely doesn't remember, then they gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and cardiac massage" adds the defender. "A couple of hours" of trying. Then came the chilling idea. "When they saw that he was dead, they decided to hide the body. They went in the following days to buy the sheet, the bags, the bleach, the gloves, the knife, the cement", says the lawyer. So "they sectioned him and he says that at a certain point he couldn't take it anymore: he goes out, calls his mother, makes her come there and calls the police". They intended, adds the lawyer, to "throw the body parts into a river".
The call to his mother on Thursday evening: "He told me very confusing things - says the woman -: that he was desperate, he kept crying, saying things... he was upset, so I didn't understand. He made it clear that something very serious had happened, but I told him that he had to call the police and he had to talk to the police, that he had to do the right thing, that's all". Once he reached Piazza Rebaudengo "it was he himself who called the police from his phone, it wasn't me". The young man, however, was very agitated so "he handed me the phone and then I spoke, saying 'come here, because my son has hurt someone'".
The twenty-six year old "would like to be hospitalized because he is very ill, he was already being treated at the Serd, he would like to go to a facility" and "he had been living on the streets for some time", explains the lawyer Perga. For Keith Budig "the murder is not even in dispute. He also denies participation in the vilification, the dismemberment, the concealment of the corpse", explains his lawyer, Francesco Rotella. "She was aware of what had happened. She did not participate in the concealment work. She reported that she had gone to purchase some bags which would then be used for..., but that was the only active participation she gave." The young woman "stayed there for two days, after which she went out and hid for a day and a half or two, out of fear of what had happened, and then she was stopped". He would not have witnessed the murder as "he was in another room". The group, the lawyer reports, had met "in the context of "selling and purchasing narcotic substances". Instead, they chose not to answer the questions of investigating judge Nicole Formichetti. Their lawyers appear to be intent on agreeing with the Prosecutor's Office on an interrogation when they are in a position to do so. Now the investigating judge's decision on the validation of the arrests is awaited.
