Statement from AKP Spokesperson Çelik after the resignation of Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement after Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya "asked for forgiveness" from her duties.

Çelik said, "The fight against all kinds of wrongdoing, corruption, abuse and irregularities will be uncompromising."

"WE ARE ALWAYS AGAINST MISTAKES"

Claiming that "Our AK Party is always on the side of 'right' and against 'wrong'. This is the 'founding philosophy' and 'reason for existence' of our AK Party," Çelik said:

"Each item and detail of the agenda, called the fund crisis, has been meticulously followed and evaluated by our authorized institutions in the party from the first moment, upon the instructions of our Chairman and President.

Our basic principle when making these evaluations is the statement of our President and Chairman, "Whoever is responsible will be held accountable."

Within the framework of this principle, the fight against all kinds of wrongdoing, corruption, abuse and irregularities will be fought "without compromise". The rights and laws of our citizens who are negatively affected by this process called the fund crisis will be handled meticulously.

"Under the instructions of our President, the comprehensive work of all our institutions, especially our Ministry of Justice and our Ministry of Treasury and Finance, in full coordination will reveal all dimensions of the events, nothing will be left in the dark and necessary action will be taken."

"THOSE WHO MADE WRONG WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE BEFORE THE LAW"

Çelik continued his post as follows:

"If there is an allegation, it will be investigated. All irregularities will be revealed. Those who make mistakes will be held accountable before the law. There is no systemic risk to our financial system and the Turkish economy. Our foundations are solid.

It is a problem that occurs in a limited number of funds in a limited part of the capital markets. While addressing this problem, as our President stated, we are carrying out comprehensive work to "ensure that whatever measures are needed, including legal and administrative regulations, are implemented to prevent a similar problem from occurring."

All inspection institutions are on duty. We will protect and strengthen the principles of transparency, audit and accountability. We have full will to protect our nation's trust in every field. There can be no compromises, exceptions or indecision when protecting the trust of our nation. In our AK Party, the "alphabet of our politics" is to fight against all kinds of wrongs until the end."

FATMA BETÜL SAYAN KAYA ASKED FOR "FORMENT"

In his statement on the night of September 26, Kaya announced that he asked the President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to be relieved of all the duties he held in order to investigate the allegations regarding fund transactions that came to the fore against him.

Kaya explained the reason for his decision as the clarification of the allegations and the proper conduct of the investigation process.

Çelik's statement was the first evaluation from the AKP administration after Kaya left his duties.
