Strait of Hormuz Tension Continues Between the USA and Iran

US President Donald Trump said, "We carried a record amount of oil through the Strait of Hormuz last night. This amount is more than we extracted before the war."

Conflicts between the USA and Iran are not limited to mutual attacks between the two countries, but also directly affect maritime transport in the region. Targeting oil tankers and disrupting ship traffic in the region further limits mobility in the strait, which is critical for global oil supply. US President Donald Trump told reporters in Chicago, "We carried a record amount of oil through the Strait of Hormuz last night. This amount is more than we extracted before the war."

The US President stated that oil prices will fall "as soon as Iran surrenders, as soon as the war is over."

THERE HAS NOT BEEN A DEFINITIVE ANSWER FROM MEDIATORS YET

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Erakchi stated that they have not yet received a definitive answer from the mediators regarding the conditions they conveyed to the USA regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the statement made by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Erakchi made statements regarding his contacts in the USA.

Stating that they saw US President Donald Trump's statements regarding the conditions offered by Iran regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, Erakçi said:

"However, no response has been received from the mediators yet. Of course, we hear both good and contradictory statements from the US President. We are waiting for the definitive answer through the mediators, and we will make a decision according to the answer we receive."

Erakchi noted that they had intensive contacts in the USA and that they conveyed the conditions determined by the Iranian Supreme National Security Council to the other party through mediators for the progress of the negotiations.

Erakçi said that the conditions put forward by Iran must be implemented in order to open the Strait of Hormuz, and underlined that they will not step back on this issue.

Finally, Erakçi stated that there is no one who can blame his country for not trying diplomacy, that they did not block the path of negotiation through diplomacy, but that they would not give up defending the rights of the Iranian people.

The Iranian delegation went to the USA on the margins of the UN General Assembly and presented 7 conditions to the USA, under the mediation of Qatar, regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

However, US President Trump announced that they did not accept Iran's conditions.

While Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian returned to his country after the UN General Assembly, it was decided that Erakchi would stay in the USA until Wednesday.
