New circular from the Ministry of Justice to protect children and young people

With the signature of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, a circular was sent to 175 high criminal prosecutor's offices in 81 provinces regarding the evaluation of reports regarding obscene and criminal activities targeting children and young people without delay, the immediate collection of digital evidence and the imposition of access blocks when necessary.

Minister Gürlek shared the issue on his social media account.

Minister Gürlek, in line with the 2026-2035 Family and Population Decade vision put forward by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; He stated that they determinedly continue their fight to protect families, children and young people from all kinds of abuse, obscenity, crime and harmful content.

In this context, a comprehensive letter was sent to 175 high crime Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in 81 provinces.

In the letter sent to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the following was requested:

- Evaluating reports regarding obscene and criminal activities targeting children and young people without delay.

- Immediate detection and preservation of digital evidence

- Implementing content removal and access blocking measures when necessary,

- Introducing organized crime provisions in case of suspicion of organized structure,

- Conducting a simultaneous financial investigation if there are signs of income from crime,

- Complete implementation of protective measures to prevent secondary trauma to victimized children,

- Ensuring strong and continuous coordination with relevant institutions

Minister Gürlek said, "The best interests of our children are not open to discussion for us. We will not tolerate any criminal activity targeting the institution of family, the future of our youth and our social order. We will resolutely fulfill the requirements of the state of law in digital media and in the physical world. We will protect our family. We will protect our children. We will protect our future."
