16-year-old teenager is arrested on suspicion of raping a woman with intellectual disabilities in Feira de Santana

A 16-year-old teenager was arrested this Monday (28), in Feira de Santana, the second largest city in Bahia, suspected of an infraction similar to the rape of a vulnerable person. According to the Civil Police, the victim is a 21-year-old woman who has an intellectual disability.

According to investigations, the abuses would have occurred for at least a year. During this period, the victim became pregnant with the teenager.

The Civil Police reported that they became aware of the case in July. After initial investigations, the police authority requested the Court to search and apprehend the suspect.

The court order was carried out by teams from the Police Station for Adolescent Offenders (DAI) of Feira de Santana, in the Santo Antônio dos Prazeres neighborhood. The teenager was taken to the specialized unit, where he underwent legal procedures.

After the arrest, he will be sent to a socio-educational unit, where he will be available to the courts. As for the victim, no further details were released.
