The Russian government will maintain subsidies for the creation of radio electronics

The Russian government will continue to subsidize programs for the creation of domestic radio electronics, although previously the Ministry of Industry and Trade wanted to abandon it and switch to a system of preferential loans. Kommersant (Kommersant) writes about this with reference to the explanatory note to the draft federal budget for 2027 and the planning period of 2028 and 2029.

In total, the budget allocated 35.7 billion rubles to support manufacturers from 2027 to 2029. Another 2.8 billion in 2027-2028 will be transferred to the Russian Science Foundation for research and development work (R&D).

In addition, 2.3 billion rubles will be allocated for preferential lending in 2027-2029. As a result, the total budget of the program “Development of the electronic and radio-electronic industry” in 2027 will be 140.4 billion rubles, in 2028 - 132.1 billion, and in 2029 - 126.8 billion rubles.

Last year, the media reported the Ministry of Industry and Trade's plans to stop subsidizing manufacturers because they were already expected to show good financial results. However, the achieved indicators have not yet met expectations.

A representative of the electronics manufacturer Fplus noted that subsidies will have to be maintained until the last minute, because the industry will not cope without government support. A source from one of the manufacturers explained that private capital is not interested in projects, so the state remains the only source of funds for development.

Vladislav Babyuk, financial director of the SNDGLOBAL electronics contract development holding, added that the loan can be used in cases where the economics of the project are clear, that is, it is already known how many products can be produced, to whom and for how much it can be sold. But in domestic electronics, answers to these questions are still far away.
