Mbappé chooses Dembélé over Benzema in the 'Would you rather?'

Mbappe participated in an interview with “France Football” magazine and “L’Equipe” newspaper, during which he played the “Would you rather?” game, and found himself facing a comparison between Dembélé, who won the award in 2025, and Benzema, who won it in 2022.

Mbappé chose his compatriot Dembélé, who won the Golden Ball after an exceptional season with Paris Saint-Germain, ahead of a number of the world's most prominent stars in the award race.

Benzema posted on his Instagram account a picture of himself holding the Golden Ball, and wrote a brief comment: “More than just a Golden Ball.”

Although Benzema did not mention Mbappe's name directly, the timing of the post came after statements in which the Real Madrid striker chose his compatriot Dembélé over the former Al Hilal player.
