Seoul AI Foundation will hold the ‘Seoul AI Ethics and Governance Forum’ at COEX on the 7th of next month.

The Seoul AI Foundation announced on the 30th that it will hold the 'Seoul AI Ethics and Governance Forum' at COEX on the 7th of next month.

This is an event where domestic and foreign artificial intelligence (AI) ethics and policy experts share global AI ethics trends and seek directions for trustworthy use of AI.

Rainer Wesley, Digital Counselor at the EU Delegation to Korea, will participate in the forum and introduce the main trends of AI regulation and ethics policies in Europe.

Kim Myeong-joo, director of the Artificial Intelligence Safety Research Institute, Ramit Devnat, professor at the University of Cambridge in the UK, and Lim Si-yeon, senior expert at the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, are also scheduled to make presentations on AI responsibility and trust.

Kim Man-ki, chairman of the Seoul AI Foundation, said, "As AI spreads rapidly across society, it is as important to secure safety, responsibility, and trust as it is to utilize the technology well." He added, "I hope that the forum will be a place to share the major tasks of AI ethics and governance with domestic and foreign experts and to jointly seek the direction of trustworthy AI that Seoul should pursue."
