Nam-gu, Ulsan, promotes construction of GeoAI-based smart administration and life map by 2027

(Ulsan = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Yong-tae = Ulsan Nam-gu announced on the 29th that it will pursue the establishment of a map service closely related to administrative and daily life based on GeoAI (spatial AI), which combines artificial intelligence (AI) and spatial information, starting in 2027.

Nam-gu has decided that the core direction of spatial information administration next year will be ‘smart administration that searches with AI, sees on maps, and judges with data.’

By applying GeoAI to administrative work, we will innovate the way we work and gradually expand the scope of its use to the lives of residents.

First, we develop a GeoAI-based smart administrative service model.

This model breaks away from the method in which the person in charge directly handles the GIS (Geographic Information System) program and searches and processes data, and asks questions about the necessary information, and AI connects spatial information and analysis functions to provide results.

Nam-gu plans to develop its own GeoAI model by utilizing generative AI, open source large-scale language models (LLM), and existing computational resources so that AI administration does not stop at simple introduction or education.

Repetitive data search and analysis tasks will be automated, and linkage with departmental data such as safety, transportation, welfare, and life administration will be gradually expanded.

The construction of an integrated public service map closely related to daily life will also be promoted as a new project next year.

This is a project that integrates public and administrative data scattered by department and system into a map so that residents can check necessary daily life information on one screen.

In particular, data such as integrated construction site information, late-night pharmacies, and free open parking lots that are not provided by major portals or are difficult to check are discovered and made public.

The collected data is provided as a map service after standardization, location information purification, and security review.

Nam-gu plans to complete integrated map construction and service testing in the first quarter of next year and start online services in April.

In the future, we plan to continue to discover and update lifestyle information that can be made public through departmental collaboration.
