China News Service, Nanning, September 13 (Wei Jiaxiu) The Department of Justice of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Wuzhou Municipal People's Government jointly held a press briefing on the 11th to introduce the situation of the 2026 China (Guangxi)-ASEAN "AI + Law" Application Innovation Competition. This competition focuses on the pain points and difficulties of cross-border legal services between China and ASEAN, and promotes the in-depth integration of artificial intelligence technology and legal services. Currently, the competition has been fully launched and registration channels are open to mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and ASEAN countries.

With the theme of "AI enables law to cross mountains and seas", this competition is an important part of Guangxi's 2026 "AI Empowers Thousands of Industries" Super League (A Super League). The competition is based on Guangxi's cutting-edge location advantages for ASEAN's opening up and cooperation, and closely follows the practical needs of cross-border commercial dispute resolution, extraterritorial legal ascertainment, multilingual legal services, cross-border compliance and risk control in the context of China-ASEAN economic and trade exchanges continuing to deepen, aiming to deepen China-ASEAN exchanges and cooperation in the field of digital rule of law.
The competition was officially launched on August 31, with three major tracks: domestic application track, college student track, and ASEAN application track. Entries must focus on six business directions: government legislation and administration according to law, penalty execution and regulatory safety, public legal services, rule of law promotion, ASEAN-oriented legal services, industry data sets and vertical models. They can be implemented products, industry solutions, prototype systems, algorithm models, data platforms or innovative research results.
The competition adheres to the orientation of real business scenarios and encourages participating teams to focus on solving practical pain points such as legislative auxiliary review, intelligent retrieval of similar cases, intelligent administrative law enforcement supervision, intelligent administrative reconsideration, intelligent contract review, ASEAN country legal ascertainment, cross-border legal risk early warning, community correction intelligent supervision, and intelligent legal dissemination, and promote the upgrade of results from single-point tools to complete sets of digital rule of law solutions.
In terms of event support, multiple departments in Guangxi jointly sorted out the pain points and blockades in foreign-related legal services, cross-border compliance review and other fields, released a number of high-value real business scenarios, and guided participating teams to develop practical solutions.
In terms of awards and incentives, the competition is equipped with multiple incentive policies, including giving priority to venture capital institutions and incubation carriers, enjoying industry docking and innovation and entrepreneurship guidance services, and giving priority to recommend and apply for targeted support from the Guangxi Science and Technology Innovation "Smart Fruit" action plan. Excellent and mature projects will be recommended to the Guangxi judicial administration system and legal service institutions, and included in the talent and enterprise resource database. There will be 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 5 third prizes for each of the three tracks. The winning team will receive a certificate and bonus.
In terms of the transformation of results, the competition links industrial parks, venture capital funds, legal service institutions, technology companies, university scientific research platforms and ASEAN cooperation resources to promote high-quality projects to accurately meet market needs, build a legal technology talent pool, innovative project libraries and expert think tanks, and support high-quality projects to be launched in Guangxi and market-oriented applications for ASEAN.
As one of the organizers of the competition, Wuzhou City attaches great importance to the transformation of competition results. Tang Jichun, a member of the Party Leadership Group of Wuzhou Municipal People's Government, introduced that Wuzhou has built a number of applications such as the "Fa Zhi Wu You" AI empowerment platform, AI conflict and dispute mediation platform, and intelligent early warning and processing AI agents, and has accumulated industrial data base, scenario resources and practical experience.
In the next step, Wuzhou City will form a special working group for the implementation of event results transformation scenarios, sort out the list of scenario requirements by category, and open it to participating teams. Priority will be given to the two characteristic industrial chains of recycled metal and Liubao tea as pilot tracks to provide real testing space for participating projects. (over)
