China News Service, Shenzhen, September 24 (Reporter Wang Jian) According to the Bay Area AI Innovation Alliance's news on the 24th, the first Bay Area AI Innovation Alliance Annual Conference (referred to as GAAC2026) was recently held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).
The conference will include keynote speeches, roundtable forums, paper seminars, company visits and other links. Scholars, doctoral students and industry experts from various fields in the Greater Bay Area and universities at home and abroad gathered at the scene to conduct in-depth exchanges around cutting-edge research and industrial applications of artificial intelligence.
At the opening ceremony, Zhao Jianliang, director of the Blockchain and Intelligent Technology Research Center of the School of Economics and Management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), said that this conference attracted teachers and students from more than 30 universities to participate, reflecting the strong willingness for scientific research exchanges and cooperation needs in the field of artificial intelligence.
Tong Shilu, deputy dean of the School of Economics and Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), pointed out that the development of artificial intelligence has created new opportunities for universities in the Greater Bay Area to deepen cross-school collaboration. Although the cultural backgrounds of universities across the country are different, scholars can share wisdom and grow together through cross-border exchanges. He also shared his thoughts on talent cultivation in the AI era, believing that artificial intelligence is an important tool to assist human innovation and improve efficiency.
Xie Kang, director of the Strategy and Academic Committee of the China Information Economics Society, co-chairman of the Bay Area AI Innovation Alliance, and professor of Sun Yat-sen University, pointed out that the first GAAC Annual Conference has established an important exchange and cooperation platform for the intersection of artificial intelligence and business management in the Greater Bay Area. It can promote the collision of ideas and resource sharing between different universities and institutions, and help all parties jointly explore the development direction of artificial intelligence.
Subsequently, the "2026 Bay Area Colleges' Jurui Cup' AI Development Competition" was launched at the conference site. Deans, experts and scholars from 11 alliance sponsors jointly took the stage to cut the ribbon, marking the official launch of the event. This move will further promote the in-depth integration and innovation of industry, academia and research in universities in the Bay Area.
In the subsequent keynote speech, Li Guangzhong, dean of the School of Management at Sun Yat-sen University, gave a report titled "Generative AI in News Production and Stock Price Crash Risk - Empirical Evidence from China" to explore the impact that generative AI will have on the capital market information environment when applied to financial news production.
Wang Jingqi, head of the information system and operations management field of the School of Economics and Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), shared the cutting-edge issues of the artificial intelligence industry chain and ecological management. He systematically sorted out the complete system of the AI industry from the five dimensions of energy, chips, infrastructure, models, and applications.
Feng Juan, director of the Shenzhen International Graduate School of Tsinghua University and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Research Center, analyzed the copyright policy for AI-generated content from an economic perspective and discussed the design ideas for the optimal copyright system in human-machine collaboration scenarios.
In addition, this conference also held a roundtable forum with the theme of "From e-commerce to intelligent commerce: opportunities and challenges". Experts and scholars conducted in-depth dialogues on topics such as the definition of intelligent commerce, the threshold of autonomous decision-making, business model innovation, implementation of the "last mile", organizational talent changes, and employment impact.
