New Taipei Xiushan Fire Brigade breaks ground Hou Youyi: Building an AI intelligent duty station to gain rescue time

The New Taipei City Government held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project of the "Fire Department Xiushan Detachment" today (1st). New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi pointed out that the Xiushan detachment will be an important firefighting base in the Central and Yonghe areas. With the increase in population and demand for disaster relief and rescue, the city government has invested in firefighting construction. Since taking office, 11 new fire department buildings have been completed, and another 7 are under construction, 1 is expected to start construction by the end of this year, and 3 are planned to provide front-line personnel with more complete software and hardware facilities to ensure the safety of citizens' lives and property.

Hou Youyi said that New Taipei has been continuously improving its duty efficiency in disaster relief. The Xiushan detachment, which is groundbreaking this time, has built an "AI intelligent duty station". After receiving the 119 report, it will automatically send a dispatch order and instantly connect the broadcast, garage sliding door and backup room lighting. The arrival time of firefighters can be advanced by about 20 seconds, gaining valuable rescue time for the public.

In addition, the city government has also strengthened the quality of emergency rescue. The OHCA recovery and discharge rate has gradually increased from 3.1% in 1999 to 12.13% in 2025. As of August this year, a total of 3,177 lives have been saved, ranking second in the world in effectiveness.

The fire department said that the Xiushan detachment of the fire department plans to build a modern intelligent detachment with 4 floors above ground and a total floor area of ​​approximately 346.07 square meters (1144.02 square meters). The entire building is planned to be able to provide uninterrupted water supply and power for 72 hours. It complies with smart green building standards such as ecology, energy saving, and carbon reduction, taking into account service efficiency and safety.

In order to simultaneously improve the police capacity in the Zhonghe area, Hou Youyi also announced today that he will promote the new construction project of the "New Office Building of the Zhonghe Police Station". It is expected to invest 1.12 billion yuan to build a modern police building with 6 floors above ground and 3 floors below ground at the intersection of Huayang Road and Jianjian Intersection in Zhonghe District, with a total floor area of ​​3,632 square meters, to provide high-quality preparation space for grassroots colleagues.
