AK Party Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman reminded that it is the 46th anniversary of the September 12 military coup at the press conference held within the scope of the Türkiye Century Meetings in Tokat. Stating that Kenan Evren made a military coup on September 12, 1980 and marked the dark days of Türkiye, Yayman said, "They executed our young people and put our people in prison. A person was imprisoned for reading Nazım Hikmet, following his literary works, Nihal Atsız for reading. They divided people into right and left wing. They sent 5 thousand sons of the country to the black ground to prepare the country for the coup. As a nation, we give our rights to the coup plotters." We do not, we complain about the coup plotters, we complain today, we will complain in the afterlife as well." he said.
Pointing out that Türkiye could have progressed in a completely different direction if the September 12 coup did not occur, Yayman said, "Coups have always thrown back democracy, eliminated the will of the people and made the state a shameful situation. They built walls between the state and the nation. They called one a right-winger and the other a leftist. They hung people from the same family on the gallows. 'Should we not hang them but feed them in prison?' "They said their word," he said.
"THE COUP CONSTITUTION DOES NOT BEHIND Türkiye"
Emphasizing that they do not recognize any will above the will of the nation, Yayman continued as follows:
"The constitution, which is the product of the September 12 coup, is still in effect. The coup constitution does not suit Türkiye. If the coup was bad and the coup plotters did a shameful thing, one of these shameful things is the September 12 Constitution. This constitution is narrow for Türkiye. This constitution does not suit Türkiye. This constitution is not compatible with Türkiye's global goals. This constitution is a tutelary constitution. This constitution is a constitution that sees its nation as a threat and was made despite its nation. Therefore, the Republic As the alliance, 'New constitution right now.' we say. Türkiye needs a new constitution like bread, water and air. "We want all parties to support this constitution."
Explaining that the opposition is talking about system change, Yayman said, "The opposition said, 'Let's restructure the system.' he says. Yes, we can reconfigure the system. It's a challenge, but first, let's start with the constitution. 'Let's make a new constitution together with our nation that will make Türkiye a global power. Let's save Türkiye from this coup constitution, tutelage, shameful constitution.' I say. Therefore, as the People's Alliance, our attitude and stance on this issue is clear." he said.
Yayman pointed out that the "Terror-free Türkiye" issue is a state and nation project and said:
"The main idea, the main focus of the terror-free Turkey issue is the laying down of weapons. The terrorist organization is dissolving itself. Our main focus is not the issue of brotherhood between Turks and Kurds. In fact, Turks and Kurds have been brothers for a thousand years and will be brothers forever. The issue is the end of terrorism, the surrender of weapons. Türkiye is taking firm steps towards the second century of our Republic. Our main idea is the laying down of weapons, keeping the promises, evacuating the caves, handing over the weapons. This is the National Security Council. Later, Yayman attended the 15th Ordinary Congress of MHP Tokat Provincial Directorate and wished the congress to be beneficial.
