Work continues on the Alacabel Tunnel: 910 million lira will be saved annually

In his written statement, Uraloğlu gave information about the tunnel works under construction in the Alacabel region.

Stating that they built the Alacabel Tunnel as a 7 thousand 360 meter long double tube, Uraloğlu said, "Asphalting works continue in the tunnel, where excavation and coating concrete manufacturing has been completed. Together with our 11.8 kilometer connection roads, the total length of our project reaches 19.2 kilometers. We are building our tunnel and connection roads to the divided road standard with bituminous hot mixture coating." he said.

Uraloğlu pointed out that the Alacabel Tunnel and its connection roads pass approximately 427 meters lower than the current road level, and emphasized that the project is important in terms of transportation, especially in difficult winter conditions.

Annual savings of 910 million lira

Stating that they will ensure safe and uninterrupted transportation between Konya and Antalya by preventing the negativities experienced especially during the winter months in the Alacabel crossing, Uraloğlu said:

"With the completion of the Alacabel Tunnel, we will shorten the route by 7 kilometers and the travel time between Konya and Antalya by 20 minutes compared to the existing road. Thus, we will increase the transportation standard and enable our drivers to save time and fuel. With the Alacabel Tunnel, we will save a total of 910 million lira annually, including 768 million lira from time and 142 million lira from fuel. We will also reduce carbon emissions by 7 thousand 151 million lira annually. "We will reduce it by tons."
